This summer I am participating in Maria's scavenger hunt. She's done if for a few summers and had the idea to do so after seeing the summer photo scavenger hunt my family did for a few summers. We had a lot of fun doing that and being in competition all summer added to the excitement. You can see that on the Super Summer blog here.
I'm off to a bit of a slow start and only have 2 of the items so far, but I still have plenty of summer left to get the rest!
This is #8 - Someone "plugged in" to social media. This is my son and his girlfriend all busy on their iPhones as we sat in the waiting room at Clovis Community Hospital. We were waiting for my grand-daughter to be born, ofcourse at the time we didn't know she was a she yet!
This photo is on highway 152 going from Watsonville to Gilroy. Part of the road is undergoing work which results in only one lane so they set up signals at each end. This is a beautiful stretch of road and part of the "loop" we make for fun days. Starting at home in Campbell, over the mountains to Corralitos for jerkey and sausage, on to Watsonville for Ollalieberries and pies then to Gilroy for wine!
Great start and yes loads of time left, hope you find the time for photos other than the new grand-daughter though, BJ
ReplyDeleteIt's been a number of years (43), but I remember the hight way from Gilroy to Watsonville. We were at Ft. Ord for 3 years and we love to take little trips all over the area! Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteAnd now Fort Ord has a university on it! As a kid I loved seeing the "army men" whenever we headed to Monterey! The highway I think hasn't changed a bit!
DeleteHi Nancy ~ I love seeing your photo of the road from Gilroy to Watsonville! As soon as I read Highway 152 I felt like I was taking a trip back in time. I'm from Dos Palos, California and have traveled many times on highway 152. :o) Congrats on your new grand-daughter!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and family live in Reedley (Fresno area) so we travel all of 152 now - LOL
DeleteGood start, and you have plenty of time!
ReplyDeleteIt may be a slow start, but it's a GOOD start, especially since I'm having trouble finding any social media photo.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Hunt! I have a very similar rural traffic signal that I'm thinking of posting.
ReplyDeleteRinda
